Here and Now

God is always speaking to His people.

Yes, we all go through "dry" times, but I truly believe that there is always something He is speaking into our lives.

Last summer I began to watch for "themes" in the way that God was working in and through me.

Recently, this verse and the message it brings has been popping up a lot:

Proverbs 16:9
The heart of a man plans his way,  but the Lord establishes his steps.

What has God been teaching you?

  1. That a lot of what I thought was truly isn't. That I have to look at every facet of my life and take nothing for granted. That sometimes I will have to take a stand for what I believe to be true - and true for all believers, even if they don't see it. That He has made me to be blunt without eloquence of speech and for this I may be persecuted and/or called names. That I need to embrace the gifts He has given me - hard though they are! - and not wish that I had some other more 'fun' gift. That I need to be bolder and of good courage. Hard lessons or hard head or both...but I'm still learning.

  2. Wow! This exact verse popped into my head today when the dean of my college called to "chat" about the music program they are affiliated with. It is being dropped, which means that half of my classes for my degree are being dropped. I am definitely praying!
I had my way for school all planned out, but the Lord is now truly establishing my steps according to His plan!
