I saw this link up and thought it would be fun! So, here we go....

Since we’re all “lifestyle” bloggers, we thought we’d let that be our theme: sharing all different facets of our holiday. Choose as many of the items as you’d like from this list to share about:
+ Thanksgiving Family Traditions
+ Favorite Recipe
+ Fashion for Turkey Day – What do you plan to wear?
+ What Thanksgiving means to you in one word
+ Your “Pinterest” table decor muse
+ A photo of something you’re thankful for
+ An inspiring quote about thankfulness

My favorite family traditions are the MENU and the COOKING. Every year we eat the same foods. Every year my Mom and I cook the meal. Missing the days when her Mom joined us helps me treasure the days we still have together all that much more. It won't be long until my sister finds herself part of the tradition  too!

There are usually games of skip-bo played in the kitchen. I have my Grandma to thank for that tradition.

And other than that, it's just a bunch of people eating a bunch of food and sitting around talking about a bunch of things.

The thing that I am most thankful for in this life is PEOPLE. We are spread out, but I have a pretty great family. On top of that, I know some amazing people who FEEL like they might as well be family. And I am always up for meeting a new "stranger"....Grocery stores, airplanes, new cities...It seems that everywhere I go I am reminded just how much I am glad that God put so many other people in this world.

Lastly, I want to share with you the reason why I am most thankful. You see, all of this, my life and all of the wonderful things in it is what it is because of what Jesus has done. His desires for me is what keeps me going. His desires for me are what keep me thankful

Jesus said, "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, may be with Me
where I am, to see My glory that You have given Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world." John 17:24

That's my hope this Thanksgiving. Thankfully, I know that this is promised me. Someday I will be with Him, where He is seeing His glory with all of the others who are His, FOREVER.

In the meantime, I guess we have a bit of work to do. Enjoy your holiday for it is only a foretaste of the thankfulness you may feel forever.

  1. Spending time with family is so important over these holidays: I can't wait to spend the morning baking and cooking with my own sweet mum. And yes, Christ has given us such a love...the most important thing we can be thankful for...

  2. i am thankful for Luke 16:17, which has been on my mind since our pastor referenced it yesterday in his sermon. I am thankful for that verse because it means that everything in the Bible has occurred or will occur, it is the security in knowing that I have fallen more in love with my heavenly Father today
